Big Comeback Win for Basketball

Oxnard Men's Basketball started slowly on Saturday night, but finished with a flury to take down cross-county rival Moorpark College.  The Condors found themselves trailing the Raiders by up to 24 points in the first half, but cut the deficit to 53-42 by halftime.  Oxnard was able to apply pressure in the backcourt to force MC into 14 turnovers.  They converted many of those into points and outscored the Raiders by 16 points in the second half, for the 90-85 victory.

OC was again led by James Webster's 36 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, and three steals.  Chrys Jackson dropped 26 points, six rebounds, and six assists.  Aries Vega played tenacious defense throughout the game, to force the Raiders into difficult spots on the floor.  Ricky Hagan chipped in with eight points, and Anthony DeLaCruz had six points.

OC moved to 7-12 on the year, and 3-6 in WSC play.  They hope to get two in a row on Monday night (make-up game) at Cuesta College.

The Women's game did not go as well for Oxnard as the Condors fell 89-49 to Moorpark.

OC was led by Malaykah Lumas (20 points and five boards) and Jazmin Pedraza added eight points in the losing effort.

Oxnard returns to play at Ventura College on Wednesday night.  The game is scheduled to start at 7:00 pm.
