Men's Basketball goes 1-1 at The MC Tournament

Men's Basketball opened their 2023-24 season hosting their own tournament which saw them go 1-1.

In their season opener versus visiting Porterville College, the Raiders were raced out to a 10 point lead and never looked back. Eventually besting Porterville, 98-62.

5 Raiders scored in double figures led by Jamaal Unuakalu who scored a game high 15 points, added 9 rebounds, and had 2 blocks. Jack Benyshek and Avi Harper each added 12 points, Kenji Cooper had 11 points, and Lucas Frenske had 10 points.

On night 2 of the MC Tournment versus Cerro Coso College, it was a different story. For the first eight miuntes of the game, the Raiders and Coyotes exchanged buckets with no team taking control until CC point leader Destin Jenkins poped a 3 pointer. At that point, the Raiders had trouble keeping up and the Coyotes lead balloned to a 49-31 at the half. 

Jack Benyshek led the Raiders scoring with 35 points, Avi Harper added 15 points, and Lucas Frenske had 13 points. Jamaal Unuakalu grabbed 10 rebounds.

The Raiders will be back in action as the take on Last Chance U East LA College, 11/10
