#13 Men's Basketball secures back to back WSC North titles with their 98-83 win over Oxnard
The #13 ranked Men's Basketball clinched a piece of the WSC North title with their 98-83 win over Oxnard. It was first time in 20 years that the Men's Basketball team secured back to back WSC titles.
The Raiders also celebrated thier outgoing sophomores, 2024 All-WSC North First teamer Kenji Cooper, 2024 All-WSC North Honorable Mention Jordan Torres, Dominik Contrearas, Dashaun Warren, Ryan Ellis, Reese Widerburg, Chase Aronowitz, and Isaiah Dupont.
With their win, the Raiders are now 10-1 in WSC North and 19-8 overall. They can claim an outright championship with a win over Pierce in their last regular season game. The Brahmas will host the Raiders on Friday, 2/21 at 7p.
Both teams went toe to toe in the opening half which featured 7 ties and two lead changes. Oxnard took the lead early in the half building a 5 point lead. The Raiders responded with a 10-2 run to retake the lead and closed out the first half hanging on to a 48-47 lead.
The Raiders opened the second half using a 21-3 run to control and pull away from the Condors. Oxnard would cut into the Raider lead but they had no response to the champs and the Condors would eventually run out of time. 98-83 Raiders.
Reese Widerburg led the Raiders with a game high 23 points and 10 rebounds. Jordan Torres added 21 points and 9 rebounds. Isaiah Sherrard had 15 points. Cooper Lucas chipped in 11 points.
