Falcons break open close game for big win over De Anza

After a couple of opening weekend hiccups 10 days ago, the Falcon men turned a close game at De Anza College into a blowout win on Tuesday evening as they won going away, 96-63.  The Falcons took a narrow 1-point lead (41-40) into the locker room at halftime after trailing by as many as 7 points, but coach Bill Benford must have said the right things as his Falcons blew away the host Lions in the second half, 55-23.  With some easy baskets made in transition, the Falcons' energy and intensity both picked up as they started to pull away.  Freshman Dane Johnson had a breakout game for the Falcons with 24 points, 17 rebounds, 7 blocks, and 4 assists.  Sophomore Yaadvir Dhaliwal had 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and freshman Cameron Wall added 11 points and 7 assists.

The Falcons (now 1-2) will play at home on Saturday against Columbia (4-0) at 2:00 pm.
