The No. 2 ranked Knights improved to 22-2 overall and 3-0 in the PCAC South. They have won 21 consecutive conference games and have won 13 in a row at home.
Sophomore Darius Lee led the Knights offensively with 17 points and also added four rebounds, four assists, and three blocks.
Sophomore Wonder Smith scored 16 points and grabbed five rebounds.
Freshman Joseph Riley had another big effort off the bench with 14 points in 20 minutes. Sophomore Robert McCoy was in foul trouble for most of the game and scored five points in only nine minutes of action.
The Knights went on a 15-2 run late in the first half to turn a 21-20 lead into a 36-22 advantage. Southwestern, who was led by Quentrear Meadows' 19 points, cut City's lead down to seven (43-36) at halftime, but that turned out to be the closest the Jaguars would get.
In the second half, the Knights were ahead 66-54 with 13:06 remaining, but turned it into a 20-point lead with a quick 10-2 spurt over the next 1:52.
The Knights took advantage of Southwestern's 17 turnovers by scoring 20 points off them. Southwestern only scored two points off City's eight turnovers.
The Knights will be on the road for the next three PCAC South games beginning with Imperial Valley on Wednesday, January 24 at 5 p.m. After that, City will travel to Mesa on January 26 and Cuyamaca on February 2.
