SAN FRANCISCO --- Center Mezziah Oakman was dominant underneath the basket, posting a double-double with 12 points and 15 rebounds while No. 1 state-ranked City College of San Francisco found its stroke late to pull off an 89-79 come-from-behind victory over No. 5 Las Positas College on Wednesday night at Brad Duggan Court.

The win extended the Rams' winning streak to 16 games and improved them to 20-1 overall. CCSF also has a strong hold of first place in the Coast Conference North Division standings at 7-0.

Las Positas led for the majority of the contest but couldn't finish out the win against a deep Rams squad.

LPC opened with an 8-0 surge, was up 12-1, and held its biggest lead of 30-13 after a three-pointer by Jorren Edmonds with nine minutes to play in the first half. CCSF finally got some shots to fall and responded with an 8-0 run to get within seven points at 32-25.

The Rams would eventually tie up the game thanks to a pair of free throws by Matthew Williams with nine seconds remaining, but Jordahn Johnson's layup just before the halftime buzzer sent the Hawks into the break with a narrow 41-39 advantage.

Las Positas held off CCSF in the second, but a three-pointer by the Rams' Ezekiel Holman at the 13:15 mark gave them their first lead of the game at 56-53. The two squads exchanged leads over the next eight minutes and with the score tied up at 73-73, the Rams pulled away for good with an 11-2 run.

Naseem Gaskin led San Francisco with 13 points, Wrenn Robinson added 12 points, and Jamir Thomas chipped in with 10 points.

CCSF also won its 53rd consecutive Coast Conference North Division game. The Rams are next scheduled to host Foothill College on Friday (Jan. 28) at 7 p.m.
