In what could be one of the greatest comebacks in recent memory, the GCC Men's Basketball team erased a 19-point halftime deficit at Santa Monica City College, 44-25, and came away with a 78-75 conference win on the road Jan. 15. Glendale is now 1-1 in conference play and 7-9 overall.
GCC outscored the home team 53-31 in the second half thanks to some solid defense and double figure scoring led by Noah Smith with 25 points, Tyus Jackson with 23 and Nigel Dickens with 12 points. Jackson added seven rebounds and five steals, Smith had three assist and three steals and Dickens had seven rebounds to pace the starters.
Glendale continues conference play Saturday Jan. 18 against Bakersfield College at 1 pm, The game will be played in the Vaquero Gym as the main game site, the Verdugo Gym suffered recent damage to high winds in the region. Please be award that seating is limited in the Vaquero Gym.
