Owls Make It Rain From Three

No. 18-ranked Citrus College grabbed its second-straight win by over 40 points, downing LA Valley 102-59 Saturday afternoon. The Owls extend their winning streak to six in a row with an average 30.5-point scoring margin.

The Owls now stand at 15-5 on the year and 6-1 in the Western State Conference. The Monarchs slip to 2-12, 1-1.

As a team, Citrus knocked down 22 three-pointers, setting a program record since single-game team records were kept in 2012. The Owls finished the game 22-for-48 from the perimeter for a 45.8 shooting percentage and out-rebounded the Monarchs 51-to-36.

Cedric Reed led the Owls with 23 points, knocking down seven treys, which sits tied for sixth in the record book. Reed finished the game shooting 8-for-15 from the floor, including 7-for-13 from distance. Jayden Johnston and Francis Dogani each added 15 points after both hit five triples. Chris Chiles helped move the ball around and finished with six assists.

Citrus led from the tip as Leonard Turner won the jump and Johnston rattled in the first triple of the game off a Chiles assist.

The Owls head to Santa Monica on Monday for a 5:00 p.m. tipoff.
