While Desert lost the battle of the boards (42 to 30) and lost the turnover battle (14 to 11), they had a significant advantage in field goal percentage (47.1 to 38.1%) and three-point shooting percentage (41.4% to 36%).

The Roadrunners would build to their largest lead of the game, when Adams nailed a 3-pointer with 2:19 left to give Desert a 66-61 lead.

The Panthers would tie the game at 66-66, but Barrett hit his fifth 3-pointer of the game, to give the home side some breathing room, 69-66. Chaffey would get a layup with 25 second left to make the score 68-69, but a missed free throw by Desert led to a hand delivered chance to win underneath the basket for the Panthers, but McKinzy stole the ball to seal the win.
