Warriors Drop Sixth Straight with Loss to Palomar

TORRANCE, Calif. – El Camino College never led on Friday night as it dropped its sixth consecutive game with a 63-48 non-conference loss to Palomar at the ECC Gym Complex.

Jamal Howard led the Warriors (1-11) with 13 points while Darrian Williams-Youngblood added 10 in the loss. Anthony Smith led the Comets (10-3) with a double-double, scoring 17 points and grabbing 17 rebounds in the victory. Michael Brandon added 11 points and Anthony Brewer scored 10.

The Warriors were outrebounded 52-33 leading to 18 second chance points for Palomar. Smith did most of the damage on the boards for the Comets, grabbing as many rebounds as the Warriors top three players combined. The Warriors did post seven blocked shots on Friday with Rashon Crutcher, Williams-Youngblood and Chase Pitts recording two apiece on the night.

The Warriors will wrap up their three-game homestand on Wednesday night as they host Glendale at the ECC Gym Complex. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m.
