Vikings Battle Hard but Fall Short to LA Harbor
The Long Beach City College men’s basketball team came up short 96-92 against LA Harbor.
The Long Beach City College men's basketball team put up a strong offensive performance but ultimately came up short 96-92 against LA Harbor in their South Coast Conference matchup on Wednesday evening.
Freshman point guard Lawrence Brown and sophomore wing Major Hurley led the charge, each dropping 22 points. Brown was a force at the free-throw line, hitting 9-of-11, while Hurley dominated the boards with eight rebounds and added 10-of-11 from the stripe.
Sophomore point guard Coby Seery provided a major spark off the bench, knocking down five three-pointers on his way to 19 points. Freshman point guard Mason Pacheco Robinson also had a solid outing, contributing 18 points with two three-pointers and five assists.
"We got off to a slow start," said Head Coach and Director of Basketball Operations Barry Barnes. "We are trying to put a complete game together for a win."
The Vikings will look to bounce back in their next matchup as they continue conference play at El Camino College at 7 p.m. on Friday, February 7.
