The Long Beach City College men's basketball team opened South Coast Conference play with a commanding 129-103 victory over El Camino on Wednesday night at the Hall of Champions.
"It was an excellent game," said Assistant Coach Hosea Lewis. "We rebounded well and played hard defense, especially in the second half. We finally saw the light when it came to pushing the ball up the court."
Sophomore Major Hurley led the charge with an impressive double-double, racking up 30 points and 11 rebounds. Lawrence Brown was another offensive force, pouring in 27 points while dishing out seven assists. Kason White made a strong impact as well, contributing 20 points and nine rebounds.
"The game went really well," said Mason Pacheco Robinson. "We played together, moved the ball effectively, and communicated well on defense. That was the key to coming out with the win."
The Vikings will look to keep the momentum going as they hit the road to face Compton College in their second conference matchup on Friday, Jan. 24, at 7 p.m.
