SCC falls to Saddleback College
SCC played at Saddleback College to start off a 3-game week for the Hawks.
SCC played at Saddleback College to start off a 3-game week for the Hawks. In their first meeting in conference play SCC won 81-76 in a tight battle. Tonight was the same as both teams were looking to move up in the standings. Saddleback took a 42-36 lead into half thanks to some hot shooting. They shot 60.7% from the field for the half. SCC's leading scorers in the half were Harrison Wiese with 10 points and Aaron Wadman with 7 points. Wiese was a perfect 5 for 5 from the floor.
The Bobcats continued their hot shooting while SCC cooled off in the second half. Despite the difference in shooting, the Hawks still managed to keep the game close and had opportunities to win the game but couldn't get over the hump. Saddleback finished strong and won 87-77. Wadman finished the game with 18 points. Kai Smith scored 16 points, while Wiese ended up scoring 14 points. Rounding out the double digit scorers was Isaiah Arthurton who netted 12 points including 2 for 3 from distance.
With the loss, SCC drops to 5-4 in conference play and 13-8 overall. The 3-game week continues on Wednesday as they host Riverside
