The Long Beach City College men's basketball team put up a strong fight against No. 3 Mt. San Antonio College on Wednesday evening but ultimately fell short in a hard-fought 99-88 loss.
Despite trailing 49-38 at halftime, the Vikings showed resilience in the second half, matching the Mounties point-for-point with a 50-50 split.
LBCC's starting five delivered standout performances, led by Kason White with 20 points. Lawrence Brown contributed 18 points and eight assists, while Kane Young added 18 points and seven rebounds. Major Hurley had a well-rounded game with 19 points, six rebounds, and five assists, and David Garcia chipped in 10 points along with eight assists.
The Vikings will look to bounce back when they hit the road to take on LA Trade Tech on Friday, Jan. 17, at 7 p.m.
